Lauren Byrne BHSc (Hons.) O.T.

Occupational Therapist

Lauren gained her BHSc (Hons.) degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Huddersfield in 2022. She is passionate about working collaboratively with children and families to help them to achieve their personal goals and to empower children to engage in daily activities in ways that feel safe, authentic, and enjoyable.

Lauren is registered as an Occupational Therapist with CORU and is a member of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland. Lauren has worked as an Occupational Therapist in both Northern Ireland and England prior to joining the Horizons Team in June 2025.

Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist Lauren has worked in paediatrics in NHS England within a variety of environments including children's clinics, the wider community and special educational needs schools providing assessments and specialist equipment to children with complex neurological and physical presentations. Lauren has work experience from across the U.K. as an occupational therapist in various settings including acute care, respiratory care, Community Brain Injury, hand therapy clinics and the Regional Burns Team.
